“Correfoc” by the “Diables de Mataró” at Arenys de Mar during the Catalonia national day celebration. A “Correfoc” is a traditional celebration that comes from the middle ages were people staging the war between angels and daemons. Today it involves playing with fire and crackers while participants dance and run.

Callada identitat la que es conté
en l’arena que els passos no transiten—
¿de qui seran, de qui aquest caminar
que no se sent, que s’allunya furtiu?
Secreta identitat aquest indici
que insinua el bateig i l’aproxima—
amples les mans que volien les formes
de la remor anònima de l’aigua.
